My grandkids are funny.I mean really funny to listen to.Every once in a while I just love what they say and here are a few of my favorites.Alexis told me she can’t understand why the girls in her class like a certain pop singer. She said she just didn’t like that Justin Beaver.
When she was little she used to take a shower with her mom.Of course one day she asked her mom what those brown spots were on her body and Brooke told her.It wasn’t long and she was telling people that she had nickels on her chest. All of us thought it was cute so we never really corrected her. That was OK until one day she got mixed up and called them her dimes.
Last week we were having BLT’s for supper and all of a sudden I heard a yip out of little Landyn.
“What happened,Honey?”
“My salad just fell out of my sandwich!”
This dude is trouble and you never know what is going to happen. We were all playing cards and he took off.Brooke found him in the laundry room taking a swig out of the Tide bottle.
“Buddy,you can’t do that.You will get sick.”
He looked at me so serious and replied,”I know I puked last time.”
Sorry I had to use this again but it is the only picture of Mckenzie I have.Just for clarification no one heard this but me.
Last time I was over she told me she was getting a little tired of her mom always getting to carry her around.I told her to hang on and in November Nana and Aunt Brooke will come and give her some smooches and rock her until she wants Mommy or Daddy.( I might have heard wrong but I don’t think so.)
This duo could not be any different.Tristan is kind of quiet around me but that will change in time I am sure so I don’t have a quote for him but I do want him included because he is a part of the family. We are just getting to know him but I know I already love him and so do the kids.Peyton thought he was awesome.
My last quote comes from two Sundays ago at church. All the kids were in front for the children’s sermon and pastor asked if anyone knew what the word Amen meant.Peyton raised her hand and said,”It means your done.”
God’s Blessings to you all and thank you God for grandkids.
It’s Justin beiber mom :p
I know that Alisha,Alexis called him Justin BEAVER not me!
I just had to yell, “amen to that!” When I got done reading this!:)
I love that you liked it.
AMEN! Hahahahahahaha, that was fantastic!
Everybody in church just laughed out loud.
As did I when I read it. 😉
LOL! So great that you’re writing these down!
Thank you it is good to know that people think it is a good idea because I really started doing it for my family and I don’t hear from them that often.I hope you had a good chuckle.
We’re such kindred spirits when it comes to grandkids!
I think we are! I love being a nana.
I love Justin Beaver! These kids sound fantastic. You forget the funny things they say unless you write them down – well done to you for doing this.
I’ll throw a dime in here and say ‘Amen!’ 😀
They are some great kids that is for sure.I almost choked on my gum reading your comment!
😀
I’ve worried about my dimes falling off 🙂
Hello,I have been laughing at everybodys comments on this and you almost made me spew coffee on the computer.Thank you for that I think!Blessings
Always a pleasure to make people spew out of their nose 🙂
lol, I love your beautiful kids in all the photos! they look like a fun bunch 🙂 The nickel inference reminds me of something my oldest boy said to my wife when he was just 4. he said, daddy has a tail…lol. Oh my goodness, my wife and I couldn’t stop laughing for rest of the night. Kind of makes me sad in a way, because I know the innocent phase will be coming to an end in few more years 😦
Isn’t it wonderful when you get a memory like that? I guess savoring those moments are so important because as a mother I know you are right, they go by fast.I am sure that is why God gave me grandkids.I get to live it all over again and it is even sweeter.Blessings and thank you so much for the comment.I will think of tails in a very different way today.
these innocent memories are priceless! and I do great deal of capturing them on HD videos and cameras 🙂 Its probably the only area of technology that I appreciate…lol
I guess being a grandmother, you have full power to spoil them rotten.lol. My parents refuse to do what I ask them NOT to do..lol. They keep saying its their right to make grandkids happy, and there is nothing I can do about it..lol.
The tail topic was hysterical!! My wife looked at me one eveing and said, ‘the Champ’ said you had a tail. We looked at each other in confusion for a second. As soon as I replied, “I don’t have a tail…”, all explosive laughters broke lose 🙂
I guess being a grandparent does give one liberties a parent doesn’t have and that is OK in my book.My grandmas were the most wonderful strong women in my life and that is what I want to be for my grandbabies.your Champ sounds like a kid I love to be around and I had to tell the tail story to my husband today. Thanks for the chuckles.
And you sound like a very sensible grandparent ….now if only I can figure out how to get my parents to be sensible, too…lol.
So cute! 🙂 Thank you for the giggles!
You are very welcome my friend!
Love it! Justin Beaver!
I know.I think it is even more funny that my daughter Alisha thought that I thought his name was Justin Beaver. Thanks for the comment.
So cute! Kids are priceless…mine give me blog material ALL THE TIME! And my son calls him Justin Beaver too. Love it!
I could write every day about something that comes out of my grandkids mouth. Thanks for stopping by.
The tide bottle story was totally awesome. My daughter has been blessed with 2 daughters of her own who are very similar “discoverers” as yours.
I laugh all the time with these kids and it is fun to know other people have kids like them. Thanks for stopping by.
Wow! That was such a refreshing read. The post says how carefully you have captured the moments of priceless innocence in your heart. God bless this wonderful grand mom and her perfect family.
🙂
We are certainly not perfect but we are happy.thank you so much for your kind words!
Liz, you are a great nana and a super sister! I look forward to your refreshing presence every visit you come to mom’s. Laughter is good medicine. You spread the soothing oil of joy and laughter. I love you, Sis.
I love you too. Thanks for appreciating my humor, you know I always was Aunt Pal when we were little pretending to be the aunts.
